Position Summary
The Security Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring Malaysia Airlines Berhad’s security operations comply with the Malaysia Airlines Security Programme (MASP), Security Departmental Manual (SDM), Malaysia Airlines Quality Control Programme (MAB QCP), MAB Emergency Response Plan (MAB ERP), and all applicable legislation, regulatory requirements and company policies. This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of security quality assurance processes, conducts audits and compliance reviews, manages non-conformances and ensures effective corrective actions. By monitoring performance, managing risk and promoting continuous improvement, the position supports a secure, resilient and fully compliant operational environment aligned with regulatory and industry best practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and conduct internal and external audits, manage non-conformance investigations, and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Monitor, analyse, and report quality and performance metrics to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for operational optimisation.
- Ensure Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) operational environment remains secure and compliant with applicable regulatory requirements and company standards, including proper execution and documentation of security processes.
- Ensure continuous compliance with applicable aviation security regulations and standards, including ICAO, IATA, FAA, EASA, and host state requirements.
- Develop, review, and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Manage and oversee the Security Audit Programme, including audit planning, implementation of corrective actions, and review of programme effectiveness.
- Conduct security audits and respond to overall security quality and compliance concerns.
- Review and revise Malaysia Airlines security programmes, including MASP, MASTP, MABQCP, SDM, SSP, TSP, LSM, ASTP, and other related security programmes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and host state standards.
- Support security risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations within the Security Management System (SeMS).
- Represent the Security Department in security-related meetings, forums, technical evaluations, and inquiry sessions, as required.
- Support emergency response planning and readiness activities related to aviation security.
- Evaluate vendor and service provider compliance through audits and assessments.
- Promote a strong security and safety culture across the organisation and lead continuous improvement initiatives within security operations.
Qualifications and Working Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aviation security operations focused on investigations, intelligence, and profiling with proven leadership experience in managing security teams and initiatives.
