Tasks
A Lead Supplier Management Specialist is responsible for building and managing relationships with companies that supply material and repair services to the Lufthansa Technik AG.
- Supplier management including building and developing relationships with global suppliers in the aviation industry
- Monitor and analyze supplier performance through different BI tools and lead regular supplier meetings
- Manage contractual conditions and take actions in case of structural deviations from the agreed terms
- Initiate and carry out negotiations with suppliers focused on cost reduction
- Point of escalation for operational purchasing
- Collaborate with other Lufthansa global entities and purchasing departments
- Design and implement supply chain and business strategies
Requirements
- University degree with a focus on business administration, economics or international business
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in purchasing and international business environment
- Distinct knowledge of business administration processes and supply chain management
- Excellent communication skills and experience in leading contract negotiations
- Proactivity, high engagement and ability to prioritize and finalize tasks with minimal supervision
- Excellent language skills in English. German language is an advantage
- Excellent knowledge in Excel/Word/PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP is desirable
- High flexibility, adaptability, ability to work in a team
- Readiness to conduct business travels abroad
