As a Technical Services Engineer, you’ll enhance the technical condition, reliability and performance of aircraft and components within your area of specialisation (Airframes or Avionics). You’ll work closely with OEMs, internal stakeholders and maintenance teams to analyse issues, implement improvements, and ensure compliance with regulatory and airworthiness requirements. This role is central to supporting safe, reliable and cost‑effective operations across the QantasLink fleet.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Identifying and analysing reliability issues in collaboration with the Performance & Reliability Engineer, and implementing corrective actions.
- Reducing operating costs through improvements to maintenance practices, repair processes, maintenance programs and operating procedures.
- Providing technical support to maintenance teams, including troubleshooting, investigations and AOG support across the network.
- Reviewing and accepting Part 21M repair and modification solutions to ensure compliance with CASR 42.125 and 42.130.
- Coordinating with OEMs and suppliers on product improvements, modifications and cost‑effective repair solutions.
- Supporting planning teams with major component changes and modification programs.
- Developing and releasing Technical Advice Bulletins and supporting the creation of Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness.
- Ensuring compliance with Qantas Group safety, quality and management systems.
You’ll Have
- 3–5 years’ experience in aviation.
- Tertiary Engineering qualifications or LAME qualifications.
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PowerBI.
- Experience collecting and analysing data for component and system reliability analysis.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detailed knowledge of the DHC‑8 Technical Manual suite and Maintenance Program.
- A strong track record in system troubleshooting and technical problem solving.
- Understanding of customer–supplier relationships and the ability to support repair station quality and performance.
