What Will You Be Doing?
Frontier is seeking an AI Assisted Developer Intern to support the development of AI-enabled applications and automation solutions. This role provides hands-on experience building and testing software using AI tools and modern development platforms. Experience gained through coursework, projects, or personal learning will be considered.
This internship is for Summer 2026 6/1/2026 - 8/28/2026 based in Denver, CO.
Essential Functions
- Assist in developing mobile, web, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) applications using AI tools to support development and testing
- Utilize Leverage Large Language Model (LLM) platforms and AI-assisted tools to help generate, optimize, and validate code across multiple domains.
- Support the design and implementation of AI-driven solutions for automation, reporting, and decision support.
- Assist in integrating statistical models and simulations into forecasting or analytical tools.
- Document technical processes, workflows, and project updates clearly and accurately.
- Participate in testing, performance reviews, and validation to ensure solutions are reliable and scalable.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and help translate them into technical solutions.
- Experiment with prompt development strategies and structured input methods to improve LLM efficiency and response quality.
Other Functions
- Hands-on experience with LLM platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, or similar).
- Strong programming background in C++, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and data-driven frameworks.
- Proven track record in real-time execution logic.
- Knowledge in predictive analytics and statistical modeling.
- Ability to design and implement risk management frameworks in automated systems.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas and workflows.
Qualifications
- Must be available to work full-time for 4 months
- Preference given to candidates that have completed at least two (2) years of undergraduate-level coursework or to those enrolled in a graduate program
- Experience building agentic AI systems that autonomously generate and refine code.
- Contributions to open-source AI projects or research in LLM-driven development.
- Proficiency in integrating AI-powered tools like ChatGPT into web applications, ensuring seamless user interaction and secure API communication.
- Experience developing thick client applications with AI-assisted features, including offline capabilities and optimized performance for complex workflows.
- Hands-on expertise in prompt engineering and fine-tuning AI models to deliver context-aware responses tailored to business requirements.
- Major in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science preferred
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Understanding of CI/CD best practices
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is a plus.
- Foundational knowledge of data pipelines and distributed systems concepts.
- Understanding of service-oriented architecture and scalable backend systems preferred.
- Awareness of compliance, ethical AI practices, and data privacy considerations in AI implementation.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced technical environment.
