Support C-295 India Contract execution by managing commercial and contractual matters
- which may arise during the life of the Contract, mainly in the Make in India portion of the contract.
Monitor and/or support the monitoring of Customer obligations throughout the Contract life.
Negotiate the commercial parts of the contractual documentation supporting PMO.
Job Description
The jobholder reports to the Responsible Commercial & Contracts Manager for the C295 India Programme, within the Military Air Systems Commercial & Contracts Light Transport, MRTT and Airbus Derivatives, related Services and
Aero structures organization (TMCAT)
The position requires for the job holder to represent Airbus Defense & Space for the respective area of responsibility vis a vis the Customer (Minister of Defence/Indian Air Force) within the frame of the C295 India Programme in support and under the lead of the Commercial & Contracts Manager responsible for the India region.
SCOPE
C295 India Programme for 56 Aircraft and associated services and related contracts (e.g. In Service Support contract and
other project agreements)
Roles And Responsibilities
- Draft Contract amendments translating internal and external requirements into such amendments and ensuring
compliance checks.
- Drive the commercial contract negotiations with emphasis on Contract terms and conditions supported by PMO,
Finance, Legal, and other functions, compliant with internal and external rules and financial objectives.
- Support contract execution enforcing the Contract provisions, including main milestones/related payments management
and in close alignment & agreement with PMO, Finance, Legal, and other functions.
- Ensure claim and waiver management: Monitor Customer obligations and associated changes along the Contract life
cycle. Negotiate remedial actions to ensure agreements and avoiding disruptions.
SPECIFIC TASKS
- Business Partner for all commercial matters to the Programme organization during Contract execution.
- Participate in internal and external meetings for follow up of C-295 India Programme execution (e.g. Programme
Management Review meetings)
- Commercial focal point with the Customer for Contract execution (e.g. payment documentation, Letters of Credit,
application/negotiation of LDs , withholdings, Commitment Letters /Delivery Agreement Letters, etc).
- Supporting the PMO in the acceptance and delivery of the Make in India” milestones, including liaison with the
Customer Integrated Team
- Drafting and negotiating T&Cs for Contract amendments.
- Identify and shares risks and opportunities from a contractual standpoint
- Contract closure in support of the PMO
Skills
The Job holder is a key interface to all functions involved in the contract execution. It is in the nature of the job to be
managing and moderating conflicting interests between functions and with the Customer in order to achieve a common
solution for the C295 India Programme, therefore this job requires a strong contractual expertise and interest and a high
level of conflict management skills.
Practical experience in assessment of contractual risks. Ability to understand and manage contractual information and
prepare decisions.
Education/Experience
¤ Educated to degree level in Law, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
¤ 3-5 years experience in the Contract Management field.
¤ Experience in drafting and negotiating contract Terms and Conditions.
¤ Knowledge on the Airbus´ Processes, Tools, Products and Services will be considered as a plus.
¤ Experience in contracts with the Indian MoD or any other Indian governmental entity.
¤ English: Negotiation Level.
