We are looking for a Data Product Owner to deliver extraordinary experiences for our customers. This role is ideal for a strategic, analytical, and influential individual who understands how to maximize the business value of data by defining, delivering, and scaling high-impact data products within Aeromexico’s new Data Mesh-based operating model. Reporting to both IT and Commercial areas, this position bridges strategy and execution by translating eCommerce and commercial growth priorities into a structured, outcome-driven data product portfolio. The Data Product Owner ensures each product has clear ownership, measurable value, and a roadmap that accelerates decision-making and revenue generation in the airline context. This role owns the end-to-end data domain—from data generation and lineage through transformation and consumption—establishing product vision, governance standards, adoption strategies, interoperability across domains, and transparent value realization through executive-ready KPIs and measurable business impact.
Educational requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (required)
- Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)
- Product Management certification (PSPO, CSPO) is a plus
- Agile/Scrum certification is a plus
- DAMA/CDMP or cloud data certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus
Experience:
- 5–8+ years of experience in data/analytics or digital product environments
- 3–5+ years of experience in product ownership or product management with senior stakeholder accountability
- Strong eCommerce and commercial strategy experience (conversion funnels, ancillary attach, retention, distribution and offer dynamics)
- Airline, travel, hospitality, or loyalty industry experience preferred
- Proven track record defining and scaling end-to-end data products with clear outcomes, roadmaps, adoption plans, and stakeholder alignment (beyond reporting-only solutions)
- Experience defining product strategy, OKRs, value hypotheses, and measurable KPIs tied to revenue, operational, or customer impact
- Experience building and prioritizing roadmaps, balancing quick wins with scalable foundations, and managing cross-functional dependencies
- Experience enabling advanced analytics and experimentation (personalization, propensity models, forecasting, optimization, A/B testing)
- Experience implementing governance, privacy, security, and compliance standards within data products
- Experience establishing SLAs/SLOs, data quality controls, observability practices, and continuous improvement cycles
Skills to succeed:
- Strong understanding of Data Mesh principles and “data as a product” frameworks
- Ability to translate commercial strategy into reusable, interoperable data assets
- Technical fluency working with data platforms, APIs, engineering teams, and non-functional requirements
- Strong leadership and influence in matrixed IT and Commercial environments
- Ability to define and implement value measurement frameworks (ROI, KPI trees, benefit tracking) and communicate outcomes to executives
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder governance capabilities
- Analytical and outcome-driven mindset with a focus on experimentation and innovation
- Collaborative, inclusive approach with high emotional intelligence
- English business fluency (required)
