ResponsibilitiesSpirit is seeking a Sr. Buyer to come grow with us! Our Sr. Buyer role is responsible for the procurement of goods and services across a wide variety of commodity types – from building strong relationships with key suppliers to help support various business units to sourcing & tracking Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for Maintenance – this role gets tons of exposure! You will oversee suppliers, review purchase orders, source material for spot buys, identify & execute on cost saving initiatives, manage RFQs & provide purchasing recommendations, and track critical purchase orders.
- Purchase Order Management: Manage the full PO Lifecycle through tracking and delivery of material to partnering with AP to reconcile invoices.
- Supplier Management: Effectively manage key suppliers and track on time delivery of certain goods. Negotiate with suppliers to reduce the total cost of ownership and create value to Spirit’s Supply Chain.
- Sourcing: Expertly find alternative suppliers and source new commodities for a wide variety of internal stakeholders. Benchmark commodities, supplier pricing, market trends and cost structures to support data-driven sourcing decisions.
- Supplier Catalogs: Work with suppliers to create & maintain commodity catalogs hosted either by suppliers or Spirit. Manage accurate purchasing data and ERP system integrity.
- Find Cost Saving Opportunities: Analyze data and strategic opportunities to find and source suppliers who are cost effective and perform efficiently in accordance with operational needs. Track cost-savings, cost-avoidance, and supply chain efficiency improvements.
- Internal Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with business units to understand requirements, timelines and strategic needs. Provide guidance on procurement policies, best practices and market insights. Promote procurement excellence, compliance and strategic thinking across the organization.
- Challenge the Status Quo: Bring forth new & creative ideas to drive positive changes resulting in gained efficiencies, cost savings, team dynamics, and overall company culture.
- Other: May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
Qualifications- Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Preference to Business and/or Supply Chain Degrees)
- Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook & Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and spreadsheet management)
- Proficiency with Coupa including requisition approvals, supplier management, sourcing modules, and spend analytics
- 3-5 years’ experience in an aviation procurement or aviation supply chain role; or
- 5-7 years’ experience in a procurement or supply chain role

- This role is a full-time, on-site role requiring presence in the office five (5) days per week to support collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers
