Our client is seeking a Senior Agile Coach responsible for improving delivery effectiveness, coaching software development teams, and strengthening agile practices across engineering, product, and leadership teams. (Hybrid, Toronto)
Must Have Skills
- 5+ years of experience working in Agile environments with software development teams
- Strong experience coaching Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid Agile teams
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement)
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices (CI/CD, DevOps, test automation)
- Experience coaching Product Owners and Scrum Masters
- Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience supporting Agile transformations at team or multi-team levels
- Prior experience as a Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, or Engineering Manager
- Agile certifications such as CSM, CSP, ICP-ACC, ICP-ENT, SPC, or equivalent
- Experience with delivery management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Experience working with cross-functional product, engineering, and design teams
- Experience facilitating organizational improvement workshops
Responsibilities
- Coach software development teams on Agile principles, practices, and mindset
- Observe team dynamics and provide actionable feedback to improve performance and collaboration
- Partner with Product Owners to improve backlog quality, story slicing, and prioritization
- Support Scrum Masters in strengthening facilitation and improving team health
- Help teams improve delivery flow, predictability, and product quality
- Facilitate retrospectives, workshops, and continuous improvement sessions
- Identify systemic delivery impediments and collaborate with leadership to resolve them
- Promote a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement
