Job Description:
The position of an Inventory Management C, reporting to the Depot Manager is responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment in the Depot area for Work in Progress (WIP) and repairs.
Essential Functions:
- Help maintain accurate receiving and issuing of parts from stockroom to production floor.
- Counts, sorts or weighs incoming items.
- Verifies the receipt of incoming parts and/or returns.
- Reviews Material Transfer (MT) requests for accuracy.
- Accurately receives and/or issues parts.
- Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
- Maintain a neat and clean Stockroom.
- Accepts materials from Receiving Inspection and checks against paperwork to validate quantity, part number and description
- Arranges storing of received materials in a neat and orderly manner onto shelves, racks or specified floor locations.
- Determines the item identification and stock location. Stores items in bins, racks, or shelves, according to identifying part number.
- Prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock. Makes inventory adjustments to items carried in stock, as necessary.
- Performs daily data entry on computer. Maintains computerized inventory records and documents all discrepancies and helps with complex part research.
- Coordinate workload and change priorities based on management, and interface and work with all functional groups.
- Load and unload heavy materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves, by hand or various power lifting and handling equipment.
- Lift, move or manipulate heavy parts and assemblies ranging up to 50 lbs.
- Move or transport materials to/from Receiving, Stockroom, or Production area to designated area.
- Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost.
- Helps develop and train less experienced personnel on team.
- Responsible for the accuracy of time charging on job performed and keeping his or her work area clean and well organized.
- Knowledge and experience in managing inventory.
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
- Sound reasoning and decision-making ability; strong analytical skills.
- Must be able to interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Contracts, Procurement, Quality, Administrative, and Management personnel.
- Good communication skills including the ability to listen to team members and work as a team member to meet program objectives.
- Proficient in use of personal computers with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must use strong drive and ability to meet expectations under limited supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with six (6) years of prior Inventory Management experience
- OR 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Must be a US Citizen.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $41,000 - $76,000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
