The Leaves Experience Coordinator will serve as a critical member of the Delta Health & Wellness Leaves & Absences (L&A) team. This team functions as the employee engagement arm of the Enterprise Leaves & Absences organization and plays a key role in supporting excellence in employee experience, enhancing return‑to‑work outcomes, and strengthening financial performance across the company.
In this role, you will provide high‑touch, high‑tech support to employees navigating leave events and ensure employees receive timely, empathetic, accurate guidance throughout their leave journey. You’ll collaborate closely with divisional partners, the Enterprise L&A Team, and other Health & Wellness stakeholders to drive consistency, improve processes, and support key initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees experiencing leave and absence events, delivering high-touch support and guidance across the leave lifecycle.
- Provide timely assistance via a shared inbox and phone line, ensuring rapid responses and a seamless experience for employees.
- Partner closely with the Enterprise L&A Team on weekly case reviews, policy and process updates, and proactive initiatives aligned to financial performance and return‑to‑work improvement.
- Educate employees on leave policies, processes, eligibility, documentation requirements, and available resources with clarity, empathy, and accuracy.
- Reduce escalations by resolving questions upfront and helping employees navigate Sedgwick and other partners effectively.
- Support divisional partners by providing subject‑matter expertise on leave and absence matters with a deep understanding of business needs.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce friction points, and elevate overall employee experience.
- Utilize technology and dashboards to monitor KPIs, flag trends, and support data-driven decision making.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA, privacy standards, and confidentiality protocols.
- Participate in regular team huddles, training, and process calibration to ensure consistency and operational excellence.
- Co-locate within the Sustainability space in the GO Campus Admin Building as part of a collaborative, centralized team model.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Must have divisional work experience in either IFS or ACS
- Baseline understanding of FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, long-term disability, and related leave policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically—especially with employees experiencing stressful or sensitive circumstances.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple cases, manage high-volume inquiries, and meet service-level expectations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across divisions while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Comfort using case-management tools, shared inboxes, and HR systems.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, escalate issues appropriately, and follow through to resolution.
- Must be HIPAA/Privacy trained or able to complete required training upon hire.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- 2+ years of experience in Leaves & Absences, HR operations, employee relations, disability management, workers’ compensation, or a related HR function.
- Experience partnering with Sedgwick or another third‑party leave administrator.
- Familiarity with Delta divisional structures and operational environments.
- Prior experience supporting return‑to‑work cases or coordinating fitness‑for‑duty processes.
- Demonstrated success in roles requiring high-touch service delivery, advocacy, or case management.
- Experience working in a centralized service model or shared‑services HR environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret trends, dashboards, and KPIs to identify areas of improvement.
- Ability to simplify complex information and coach employees through multi-step processes.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and provide steady, consistent support during key employee moments.
