About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Area Manager Turkey, Central Asia and Azerbaijan,
the incumbent will act as IATA’s representative in Uzbekistan and will be
responsible for the launch and implementation of the Billing and Settlement
Plan (BSP) and for the delivery of IATA's agenda and the achievement of the set
objectives in the country.
What your day would be like
Manage and coordinate the implementation and pilot operations, including
technical and logistical aspects, between airlines, agents, the Computer
Reservations System (CRS), Data Processing Center (DPC) and system providers
within the directives and procedures from IATA and all other business partners;
Ensure the training service is delivered consistently to all
stakeholders in Uzbekistan;
Ensure good relations with the local government authorities, airlines,
agents, and other important stakeholders during the implementation process;
Review the BSP related products and services and update frequently the
service offerings and pricing policy;
Develop new business opportunities derived from BSP services, and
increase the added value for our Members;
In coordination with the Customer Service (CS) team, design an effective
communication strategy for all BSP related matters;
Contribute to building and maintaining
pro-active, professional and top management level relationships with member
airlines (including the local representatives of foreign airlines) and other
industry stakeholders, including suppliers and service providers in the
assigned country, as well as with non-member airlines in both the passenger
value chain and the cargo supply chain;
In coordination with the Area Manager,
participate proactively in building and maintaining effective relationships
with legislators, government ministers, and government officials, at both the
policy and working levels in all relevant parts of the host government (e.g.
Transport, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Environment, Trade ministries and
regulators (CAA));
In coordination with the Area Manager, promote
IATA's policies, positions, objectives, activities, services and products
amongst airlines, governments, regional organizations and other industry stakeholders;
Work closely with the Area Manager and the
Regional Affairs team in Madrid and monitor and report on aeropolitical,
economic and commercial developments in Uzbekistan, taking or recommending
actions which are consistent with IATA's policies and objectives;
Work closely with the Global Delivery Center
(GDC) Europe (EU); support IATA Settlement Systems (ISS) customer stakeholder
management with airlines, travel agents and forwarders; respond quickly and
effectively to any market issues which may put members' funds at risk;
Ensure the local implementation of global
projects and programs in accordance with IATA’s strategy, in coordination with
the Area Manager and the regional team;
Ensure corporate fiscal, legal and regulatory
compliance in the country;
Perform representative duties on behalf of IATA
as authorized by the Area Manager;
Coordinate closely with the regional team
regarding marketplace communications, especially those related with politically
sensitive issues, inclusive about defaults of either agents or airlines;
In close cooperation with the regional team and
the Area Manager, coordinate and deliver commercial and business development
activities in Uzbekistan to achieve the regional commercial targets;
Gather, and report to the Area Manager and the regional
team, all relevant local information which impacts the aviation industry;
Identify advocacy opportunities supporting
IATA’s objectives and report them to the Area Manager and the Regional Affairs
team;
Support the organization of IATA events in
Uzbekistan and represent IATA at local or regional industry events;
Serve as a facilitator and host for visits of IATA senior managers
and/or subject matter experts.
We would love to hear from you if you have
A University degree in Business Administration, Political Science, or
any other relevant discipline. Advanced University degree would be an asset;
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least three
years (small countries) to five years (large countries) of experience in a
similar role. Industry experience is a plus;
Talent for building relationships and managing political/advocacy
campaigns;
Well-developed negotiation and lobbying skills, and a high level of
cultural intelligence;
Entrepreneurial flair with a strong sense of commercial acumen.
Sound knowledge of information technology systems and their applications;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; excellent oral and
written communication skills in English and Russian; knowledge of other
languages would be an asset.
