Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for enhancing the quality management system to meet Parker-Hannifin’s quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability objectives. This role leads APQP/PPAP execution, drives zero-defect culture at supply chain and ensures continuous improvement through robust quality assurance and proactive relationship management.
Responsibilities
Quality Strategy, Planning & Standards
Formulate product-specific quality plans and standards to meet quality objectives and contractual requirements at minimum quality cost.
Develop, implement, and maintain an adequate quality plan for defined processes/assembly lines.
Quality Management System (QMS) & Documentation
Manufacturing / Process Quality Control (Production Oversight)
Audits & Compliance (Regulatory / Customer / ISO)
Perform and document quality audits; ensure customer requirements are conveyed and enforced within the division.
Conduct audits: plan and perform internal audits as per ISO 9001:2015; ensure corrective actions are taken.
Ensure compliance with legal, health, safety, and regulatory standards; ensure products meet customer specifications and expectations.
Nonconformance Management, CAPA & Continuous Improvement
Analyze internal and external quality failure data/trends; initiate actions to reduce failures and eliminate adverse trends.
Quality Assurance: implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement of supplier performance.
Drive improvement using methodologies like Six Sigma/Lean to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Data Analytics, Reporting & Management Reviews
Analyze quality-related data, identify trends and customer complaints, report findings to executives, and recommend improvements.
Technical Support & Problem Resolution (Internal / Supplier)
People Leadership & Capability Building
Cross-Functional / Customer / Supplier Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams; communicate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to integrate quality across the product lifecycle
Key Accountabilities :
Establish and maintain supplier quality standards (Quality Plans, Quality procedures, Inspection checklists, Quality Alerts) and ensure defect-free products reach the customer.
Execute APQP deliverables (PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan) → with customers, suppliers and cross‑functional teams → to submit complete and compliant PPAPs that are approved on first pass.
Implement QC tools to enhance process efficiency.
Facilitate root cause analysis (5‑Why, Fishbone) and implement CAPA and mistake‑proofing → on top defect modes at suppliers → to lower IPMLS (Incidents per million-line items shipped) month on month and eliminate repeat nonconformances.
Perform PPAP‑aligned process audits → at key supplier sites → to identify gaps and drive timely closure of findings, improving audit scores and process stability.
Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, Purchase, logistics, warehouse, and planning → with selected suppliers → to meet PPAP gate dates, OTIF targets, and ramp‑up plans for launches.
Build and maintain supplier scorecards and conduct regular performance reviews → for strategic suppliers → to track QDC metrics, agree improvement actions, and ensure accountability.
Define and release Quality Plans, QA Plans, Inspection checklists, and Quality Alerts → for critical parts and processes → to ensure defect‑free shipments to Parker and end customers.
Qualifications
BE Mechanical Engineer with 10-15 years’ experience
Proven Experience in Quality Management within the Hydraulics/welding/machining / Forging
machining / Precision turn components industry.
Strong Knowledge of manufacturing processes.Familiarity with Quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949) and core tools like APQP, PPAP, SPC, and MSA
