How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
The DMS Buyer is responsible for the sourcing and purchase of airframe and engine parts for DMS. The position reports to the Director of Surplus Procurement.
The scope of responsibilities includes seeking quotes, selecting vendors, executing purchase orders, ensuring deliveries meet Delta requirements, resolution of discrepancies, managing relationships with surplus suppliers, and gathering price estimates on ad hoc purchase requests. This position requires the ability to work in a collaborative environment across all levels of the team. This position is in Atlanta, GA
Primary Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
- Source, quote, negotiate and procure all assets including routine purchases, expedited purchases, and AOG purchases (MEL, log pages, job stop, A0, etc.)
- Resolve rejections
- Coordinate returns of rejected materials to 3rd party suppliers
- Deliver cost savings/value added solutions to the overall supply chain to reduce CASM for Delta Air Lines
- Ensure collaboration and leveraging of sourcing strategy with Delta Air MRO organization
- Maintain relationships with third party providers of aircraft parts
- Expedite overdue purchase orders with suppliers
- Manage receiving discrepancies between DMS, supplier and warehouse
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Minimum 18-24 months relevant work experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Customer-focused and ability to foster productive relationships
- Must be proficient with MS Excel, Outlook and SAP
- Works with integrity and professionalism, always showing respect for others and a drive toward continuous improvement
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
