About the team you are joining
At IATA, we are dedicated to achieving net zero aviation by 2050. Our Sustainability and Economics division is at the forefront of this mission, working in favor of airlines’ financial and environmental sustainability. In this capacity, we collaborate with airlines, regulators, and the entire value chain to create and implement policies, standards, and solutions to accelerate airlines’ decarbonization. While the ramp-up of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) is crucial for decarbonizing our industry, we are also committed to advancing other new technology solutions, aiming to reduce fuel burn, explore new energy sources such as hydrogen and electric power, and develop carbon capture technologies and related technologies and programs.
You will join the Net Zero Transition team and report to the Head of Net Zero Research and Programs. This team is dedicated to advocating for all climate change-related solutions in aviation, ensuring airlines have access to the right options to support their transition plans. In your role, you will research net-zero technology solutions, with an emphasis on aircraft technologies, especially new frontiers such as hydrogen and electric aircraft, and on energy sources essential to aviation’s net-zero transition. Additionally, you will collaborate with divisional team members to augment research and databases around these solutions.
