Rolls-Royce is seeking a Product Cost Manager to join the Trent Fleet & Mature Engines value stream, supporting the Trent 700 and Trent 900 programmes.
This roleis responsible fordefining and delivering the product cost strategy across the engine lifecycle, ensuring cost competitiveness while enabling sustainable margin growth.
Working across Engineering, Manufacturing Operations and Procurement, the Product Cost Manager will lead cost optimisation initiatives, drive cost transparency across the value stream, and ensure robust cost governance across key business processes.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the commercial success and long-term profitability of the Trent installed fleet.
As Product Cost Manager, you will lead product cost strategy and performance across the Trent 700 and Trent 900 value streams.
Define and deliver the product cost strategy across the Trent 700 and Trent 900 lifecycle, ensuring cost competitiveness and unit cost and margin improvement.
Identifyand drive cost improvement opportunities across revenue and cost levers within the value stream.
Benchmark product costs to ensure best-in-class cost performance.
Cost Governance & Business Planning
Own product cost inputs into key business processes including:
Business Plans.
Contract Review Packs.
5 Year Plan.
Product Introduction & Lifecycle Management (PILM).
Ensure product cost is fully embedded in strategic decision-making and investment planning.
Cross-Functional Cost Optimisation
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing Operations and Procurement teams toidentifyand deliver cost reduction initiatives.
Influence product design and operational decisions to drive cost-effective solutions across the engine lifecycle.
Deliver engine margin improvement across the value stream, balancingcostand revenue drivers.
Translate operational performance into clear financial outcomes and cost drivers.
Drive a culture of cost awareness and cost-informed decision making across the organisation.
Establish robust governance and reporting frameworks tomonitorcost performance and ensure delivery of commitments.
Provide clear visibility of cost performance,risksand opportunities to senior leadership.
We are looking for someone commercially minded, with strong analytical capability and the ability to influence across complex cross-functional teams.
Experience in business strategy, finance, cost management or commercial roles within complex engineering or industrial environments.
Experience working across cross-functional teams including engineering,operationsand procurement.
Understanding of product lifecycle economics, ideally within aerospace,manufacturingor engineering-led industries.
Experience contributing to business planning, financialmodellingor cost strategy development.
Strong commercial and financial acumen.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.
Ability to influence and challenge across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Strong communicationand stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to translate complex operational data into clear financial insights.
