About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the delivery of the JP9101 Legacy Software Support project, working closely with the Project Manager and broader program team to help coordinate project, commercial, and contractual activities.
The role plays an important part in ensuring accurate reporting, analysis, and project oversight, helping the team make informed business decisions while supporting the successful delivery of project outcomes.
You will contribute to a range of project management functions including financial and schedule forecasting, monitoring work packages, preparing reports, and supporting stakeholder engagement.
Working within established procedures and under the guidance of experienced project leaders, you will assist in maintaining contract documentation, tracking supplier agreements, supporting risk and change management processes, and ensuring project data is maintained in line with company governance and management systems.
About You
You bring a foundational understanding of project management practices and are looking to further develop your career within a complex project environment.
With the ability to apply core project management competencies in structured settings, you are comfortable supporting planning, monitoring, and reporting activities while contributing to the coordination of project deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
You are detail-oriented, organised, and confident working with data, reports, and project documentation. Strong communication skills allow you to work effectively with internal stakeholders across engineering, commercial, and finance teams.
You demonstrate sound judgement, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of governance, safety, and compliance while supporting the successful delivery of project objectives.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Hold relevant Project Management qualification
- AIPM Certified Practitioner working towards Certification in Project Management
- Previous experience working in a project administration position
- Experience working in the defence sector
- Ability to analyse, report and provide recommendations on commercial issues
- Proven experience managing activities for internal and external stakeholders
