BGS is currently hiring for a Strategy and Development Commercial Modifications Specialist (Senior or Lead) to join the Commercial Modifications team in Long Beach, California. In this role you will report directly to the Engineering Director of Commercial Modifications and be responsible for leading strategy development and deployment across our global team.
In commercial modifications we are responsible for modifying the fleet of Boeing Commercial Aircraft to meet our customers’ ever-evolving needs. We offer a growing portfolio of innovative products ranging from advanced connectivity solutions to world-class interiors, performance upgrades, and regulatory mandated equipment. We strive to delight our global customers with rapid responses and efficient execution to develop and produce certified upgrades for their fleet. Our business is rapidly growing, and we are on a journey to implement LEAN processes, continue to improve our first pass quality, grow our capacity of our global team, and aggressively meet customer demand.
This position will require you to quickly understand our business and value streams so that you can aid the executive team in developing new strategies, and drive execution across our functional teams to improve our business. The successful candidate in this role will be comfortable working with senior leadership to capture inputs and deploy strategies. Excellent communication skills are a must. Experience with LEAN methodologies, quality improvement, and driving engineering efficiencies will greatly benefit you.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Senior or Lead Strategy and Development Commercial Modifications Specialist.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops strategic alternatives, drives decision alignment, and communicates Boeing strategies to achieve global growth, innovation and productivity
- Drives senior leadership decision making on key choices the Company needs to make
- Research and synthesizes market and competitive intelligence to obtain insights
- Analyzes, aligns and integrates strategies across functions and teams
- Cultivates relationships across engineering, program, sales, and digital development organizations
- Leads project teams to develop, integrate and communicate strategies
- Mange and advise Long Range Business Plan to ensure strategies and investments are appropriately captured
- Oversee high-level meetings regarding complex strategy subjects, building alignment and driving decision-making
- Applies extensive job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization
- Provides technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment; completed work is reviewed for desired results from both a near term and long-term perspective
- Guides the successful completion of strategy deployment and execution on major programs and may function in a project leadership role; erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field
- 7+ years of industry experience
- 3+ years of experience leading and advancing projects in ambiguous environments
- 2+ years of experience preparing and presenting succinctly to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
- 1+ years of experience critically thinking through hypothesis-driven approaches and performing quantitative analysis on value propositions
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 14+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A strong team player, who has the initiative and ability to embrace leadership roles when opportunities arise
- Experience in strategy development
- Strong analytic skills with experience using qualitative and quantitative data to develop product, business and services strategies
- Experience deploying lean methodologies
- Experience in modifying commercial aircraft

Summary pay range Senior (Level 4): $140-250 - $189,750
Summary pay range Lead (Level 5): $175,950 - $238,050
