P&C Technician to fill a contract position in Montgomery, Alabama.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- 0 - 3 years of related experience.
- Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems.
- These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
- Technicians must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
- They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices
- Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
- Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
- Assist assigned project lead with field assignments Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
- 0-3 years experience in a controls technician or similar role
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
- Experience with AC and DC systems
- Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned office location.
- NERC/CIP access required
- JSG will provide required PPE with the exception of steel toe boots and FR clothing
