P&C Test Engineer to fill a contract position in Montgomery, Alabama.
REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-year BS Engineering Degree (Electrical Preferred)
- 0-3 years of experience in Engineering or similar role
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
- Experience with AC and DC system
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Engineers are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems.
- These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
- Engineers must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
- They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices
- Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
- Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
- Assist assigned project lead with field assignments
- Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices
- Participate in process hazard analyses
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices
- NERC/CIP access is require
- Candidates should reside close enough to jobsite for daily commute
- JSG Provides PPE with the exception of steel/composite safety shoes
