Customer Finance Executive
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To drive the promotion and sale of Embraer aircraft across all Business Units by developing and delivering innovative, customer-focused financing solutions. The role leverages a broad global network of financial partners—including Export Credit Agencies, commercial banks, investors, lessors, and insurance providers—to enable successful deal execution. Acting as a strategic bridge between Embraer and the global financial community, the Customer Finance Executive advocates for Embraer’s products and leads cross-functional efforts to craft financing structures tailored to each customer’s specific needs.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Structure and Deliver Tailored Solutions
Support Embraer customers in securing financing aligned with their specific needs—including Senior and Junior Loans, PDP Financing, and Equity Investments—contributing to approximately 30% of Embraer’s group revenue (over USD 2 billion). Contribute to the long-term financing strategy of Embraer by aligning customer financing initiatives with corporate sales goals, market trends, and macroeconomic conditions.
-Develop and Expand Financing Alternatives
Design and implement innovative financing structures and identify new funding sources to support sales across all Embraer Business Units, including aircraft, services, and complementary products.
-Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Evaluate financial risks associated with customer credit, market volatility, and geopolitical factors, and propose mitigation strategies to protect Embraer’s interests.
-Promote Embraer to the Financial Community
Build and maintain strong relationships with Financiers to enhance the visibility and attractiveness of Embraer products within the global financing ecosystem and maintain trusted relationships with key customer finance decision-makers, acting as a strategic advisor to support their long-term fleet and financial planning.
-Innovation in Financing Models
Lead the exploration and implementation of emerging financing models such as green financing, ESG-linked loans, digital financing platforms, and blockchain-based asset tracking.
-Drive Market Engagement and Liquidity
Lead strategic discussions with Financiers to stimulate interest in Embraer assets and foster a competitive, liquid financing environment.
-Support Asset Value Perception
Collaborate with Financiers to reinforce and promote the long-term residual value of Embraer aircraft, enhancing their appeal as investment-grade assets.
-Support to Lessors
Engage and negotiate with aircraft lessors when required to support sales campaigns, ensuring financing availability to support the transaction, aligned with the objectives of Embraer, airline and the lessor.
-Lead Cross-Functional Financing Teams
Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams involving Embraer stakeholders, customers, banks, ECAs, and investors throughout the financing lifecycle.
-Represent Embraer in Industry Forums
Serve as a speaker and representative at global conferences, seminars, air shows, and industry events, reinforcing Embraer’s leadership in aircraft financing.
-Track Competitor Financing Strategies
Monitor and analyze competitor financing practices, including their use of export credit agencies, to inform Embraer’s strategic positioning.
-Gather and Analyze Market Intelligence
Collect and assess data on aircraft financing trends, including lending and leasing pricing benchmarks, to support strategic decision-making.
-Mentorship and Capability Building
Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of internal capabilities in structured finance, credit analysis, and customer engagement.
PROFILE OF THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE
- The role requires Bachelor degree or above in finance related field or equivalent; MBA preferred.
- A solid background in aviation finance, banking, or aircraft leasing—ideally with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- A strong grasp of financing instruments like PDP financing, senior/junior debt structures, ECA-backed facilities, and alternative funding models (e.g., ESG-linked loans or digital platforms).
- Proven success engaging directly with C-level stakeholders—airlines, lessors, banks, ECAs, and investors—across diverse geographies.
- Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills, with cultural fluency to navigate global markets.
- Experience managing risk in complex financial environments, including credit, market, and geopolitical factors.
- Confidence in public speaking, thought leadership, and representing your company at major industry events.
- The ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate across internal teams—sales, legal, risk, and strategy.
- Strong understanding of the aviation industry.
- Deep knowledge of Embraer products, internal processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective communicator—verbal, written, and presentation—with proficiency in English (additional languages such as Portuguese is a plus).
- High attention to detail, customer-focused, and results-driven.
