General Summary:
Astronics Test Systems is looking for an E/M Assembler Specialist to join our team. This position will be responsible for the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, rework, and inspection of TestVue systems and components. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding and application of techniques required for, systems assembly, integration, test, calibration and troubleshooting. The candidate will also support documentation, and any additional tasks assigned to ensure smooth operations and product excellence.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Systems Assembly, Calibration, and Testing:
• Assemble various systems and components following engineering drawings and specifications.
• Calibrate systems and component following documented procedures
• Perform thorough testing to verify system functionality.
Cable Build and Test:
• Assemble and test cable assemblies according to specified requirements.
• Ensure proper installation and configuration of cables.
Systems and Component Troubleshooting, Repair, and Rework:
• Identify and troubleshoot issues within systems and components.
• Perform necessary repairs and rework to restore functionality.
Inspection:
• Conduct detailed inspections of systems and components to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Document inspection results and any discrepancies.
Documentation Support:
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of assembly and testing documentation.
• Record detailed notes and update logs as required.
Additional Tasks:
• Support team activities and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field helpful.
• Proven experience in systems assembly and testing, troubleshooting, and use of calibration procedures.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in using various hand tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.
• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or senior level, self-starter with over ten (10) years’ experience must be in a manufacturing environment, specifically in wiring, harnesses and cable assemblies. Overtime is required, as needed. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by supervisor to support the manufacturing requirements of the organization.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision experience is helpful, but not required.
