JSG is seeking a Civil Engineering student intern to support our client in San Jose. This role offers hands-on experience in both field and office aspects of civil infrastructure construction.
Responsibilities:
- Review engineering drawings and specifications.
- Support construction field activities: site observations, documentation, and coordination with inspectors.
- Organize and maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders, as-builts).
- Attend construction meetings and take notes.
Learning Opportunities:
- Exposure to civil infrastructure projects and construction management practices.
- Develop skills in interpreting construction drawings, scheduling, cost tracking, and quality control.
- Understand project life cycle and basic contract administration processes.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering)
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and construction terminology.
- Ability to read plans, observe site activities, organize tasks, and communicate clearly.
- Comfortable performing site visits and following safety protocols.
- Must possess a CA driver’s license.
$28.27/hr. contract position
