The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Supply Chain Accounting team in Tukwila, Washington.
As the lead of the Supply Chain Accounting group, you will be responsible for the monthly and quarterly accounting close cycles to achieve high-quality financial records and disclosures.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical financial and accounting acumen, including the ability to dissect and research complex transactions. Preference will be given to those with public accounting experience or industry experience with a public company.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversees and reviews the work of teammates (including external service providers)
- Assists in skill development of external service providers
- Collaborates and develops business relationships with internal business partners
- Prepares and/or reviews journal entries, supporting schedules, financial analyses and reconciliations primarily related to transactions with commercial suppliers
- Ensures accurate recording of supplier non-recurring settlements, supplier advance payments and loans, raw material purchases, sales and allocations and accounting for the purchase and use of aviation fuel
- Ensures timely completion of closing requirements to meet reporting deadlines
- Analyzes and reviews contract settlements to determine appropriate accounting outcome
- Supports internal and external auditors
- Leads development of team and assist in process improvement initiatives and various ad hoc projects
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Experience in public accounting
- Industry experience with a public company
- Experience with US accounting principles
- Experience in multi-tasking and managing to shift priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail
- Experience of working both independently and in a team environment
- Experience with ambiguous and complex projects
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Peoplesoft, Cognos, SAP and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $112,200 – $151,800
