Senior Supplier Quality Specialist
About The Role

As a Senior Supplier Quality Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our supplier base through robust quality assurance practices. Your primary responsibility will be leading supplier onboarding audits and driving capability uplift across the supply chain in accordance with contractual obligations. You will assess the business maturity of supplier, identify weaknesses and work collaboratively with them to develop and validate corrective actions. You will track, report on, and close out these actions, ensuring measurable improvement in performance. You will also be instrumental in investigating non-conforming services or products, ensuring root causes are identified and addressed effectively. Part of your remit will be to deliver targeted quality assurance training across the Program where needed, ensuring consistent understanding and application of quality requirements. Maintaining up to date, accurate documentation and evidence of audit findings I s critical with records stored in a retrievable and auditable format. This role contributes significantly to ensuring H&B’s supply chain supports the delivery of safe, high quality and compliance outcomes for our Defence customers.
About You
You are an experienced quality assurance or quality control professional who brings strategic insight and operational depth to supplier quality management. Your background includes working in Defence or other high risk industries, where you’ve held roles at either a management or senior advisory level. You have a deep understanding of quality systems and standards, and ideally, you bring experience auditing quality management systems in line with AS/NZS ISO 9001 series or relevant US MILSPECs and standards. You approach supplier development not just as an auditor but as a partner in improvement, using your knowledge to support supplier in raining their performance and maturity. Your ability to investigate complex quality issues, implement sustainable solutions, and maintain meticulous documentation sets you apart. You are confident delivering training and promoting a culture of quality assurance across diverse teams and stakeholders. To be successful in this position you will bring;
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines
- Hold a Lead Auditor qualification or extensive practical experience in a Quality role in a similar industry
- Ability to provide a high level of communication with internal and external stakeholders
