The Co-op, Protective Intelligence supports the protective intelligence program and other security technology and innovation projects.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Support Delta’s protective intelligence program and methodology, and drive the formulation and implementation of innovative mitigation strategies.
- Assist in day-to-day tasks within key programs designed to proactively identify and mitigate security risk across the enterprise.
- Maintain an understanding of worldwide threat dynamics and trends related to executive/employee/event security.
- Support objective, detailed, and accurate open-source analysis and data exploitation to establish connections and patterns and discover potential risk indicators.
- Monitor vast quantities of information to identify security threats and vulnerabilities that could impact company personnel, assets, information, or reputation.
- Help in developing metrics and measures to assess, manage, and improve processes and performance.
- Collaborate across teams on special reports and investigatory projects.
- Assist with program audits and quality assurance.
- Maintain rigid confidentiality surrounding sensitive information and program elements.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution.
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.
- Must be able to work on a full-time basis for a minimum of two alternating semesters: Fall 2026 and Summer 2027.
- Optional to extend to a third rotation: Spring 2028.
- This position requires student to work for at least two alternating semesters. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters.
- Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op.
- Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce.
- Strong writing skills are essential.
- Should work well in a team environment and possess a high degree of initiative and drive.
- Familiarity with US and international security policy.
- Understanding of trends in worldwide security environment, particularly regarding terrorism/counterterrorism and the aviation industry.
- Must have strong analytical skills as well as a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage several responsibilities at once with little supervision.
- Ability to independently develop both internal and external networks.
- Must seek challenging, analytical work and must possess the ability to communicate detailed geopolitical analysis through oral and written means to all levels of management.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Highly preferred majors in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, English, Journalism, History, Economics, Government, or related field.
- Familiarity with data collection tools and/or graphic design tools a plus.
