Summary
This position is Power America Senior Accountant responsible for managing the organization's accounting and/or financial analysis functions in assigned areas. These functions may include establishing and maintaining compliance with the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives, preparing and managing financial reports and presenting findings and recommendations to management and developing and directing budgetary analyses, financial analyses or other specialized roles. This position oversees the entire Accounts Payable process, focusing on operational efficiency, accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and internal controls. Oversee the daily treasury operations, ensuring the organization has sufficient funds and managing cash flow. Ensure that the organization’s tax strategy complies with local, state, and federal laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Expert in Accounts Payable
- Oversee the daily operations of Accounts Payable at Power Americas level and focal point of contact for any AP matters.
- Coordinates with the business units and AP Shared Services for any Power Americas AP requirement
- Ensure that the organization’s AP is adhering to the Internal Control and External Audit. Provide and update AP processes and policies when needed.
- Review and analyze the AP Shared Services reports - GR/IR, Payment Forecast, KPI’s, Accrual, etc. Recommend analysis and reports that will be useful for the organization. Perform bi-weekly meeting with the buyers and shared services to resolve discrepancy.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation of all AP related general ledgers including inter-company and vendor ledgers, coordinate with the vendors, AP Shared Services and Supply Chain to resolve discrepancies and escalate the discrepancies to the manager. Justify all balances with correct back-up and support.
- Review the weekly payment proposal from AP Shared Services for approval by Chief Accountant. Highlight and explain discrepancies vs Cash Flow Forecast.
- Review the concur expenses submitted by employees and ensure that we are adhering to the internal controls.
- Responsible for the monthly accrual of expenses as per the Month-end Check list and reconcile monthly.
- Ensure that all the invoices are paid on a timely manner to avoid any delays in the production.
- Responsible for any daily and monthly journal entries related to AP.
Expert in Treasury
- Oversee the daily operations of the Treasury related matter of the organization (daily cashbook reconciliation). Ensure that the organization is adhering with the internal and external audit.
- Coordinates with the business units and Treasury Shared services for any Power Americas level requirement. Focal point of contact for any bank, cash and treasury matters.
- Reviews the Treasury Shared Services reports - Forecast, KPI’s, etc. and define reports needed by the organization.
- Review Treasury Shared Services monthly bank reconciliations and sign off and escalate to the manager any discrepancies. Prepare monthly bank-related GL balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for the monthly and weekly cash forecast and reviews it with the Chief Accountant before submitting to the CFO.
Tax
- Assist in the filing requirement for federal, state and local taxes.
- Responsible in calculating the PAS correct sales and use tax and the monthly filing. Review with the Chief Accountant before filing.
- Prepare monthly tax-related GL balance sheet reconciliations.
General
- Responsible for producing monthly financial reports for the Safran group by respecting the deadlines. Provide accurate reports matching with local accounting in a timely manner (, overdue, Opex, dashboard…) and relevant analysis.
- Perform internal control testing and ensure respect of the procedures /process.
- Create and maintain documentation of systems, processes, and procedures used in daily standard work.

- Evening/night hours may be required.

Education and/or Experience:
- Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant area of study.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in finance or accounting in a manufacturing environment.
In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, an Associate's Degree in Accounting or related area of study
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in finance or accounting in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of international business practices and foreign exchange principles
GAAP/IAS knowledge (reporting requirements – US and local versions), IFRS
Some experience in a variety of financial functions including but not limited to, General Ledger, Program Analysis, Cost Accounting and US Government Contracting Compliance, Government Reporting
Experience with financial statement analysis, discounted cash flow, financial metrics and general ledger journal entry creation.
Experience working in Excel mandatory
Experience using an ERP system
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge/ skills and experience working in SAP
- Expert level in Microsoft Excel
- Able to speak in Spanish is beneficial
