JOB SUMMARY:
As a Network Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our global network infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of the global network infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with our business goals and technological requirements. This role requires a proactive and strategic mindset, along with the ability to lead a team of network professionals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Network Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable network infrastructure to meet current and future business needs. Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively optimize network resources including all internally managed LAN and WAN networks. Ensure high availability and redundancy of network infrastructure at datacenter and company locations. Plan and coordinate network refresh and technology upgrade activities. Provide process improvements for data network communication systems and technologies.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and facilitate professional growth within the team. Coordinate team activities to ensure efficient network operations. Manage execution of the team plans, control the team budget, ensure the effective use of team resources and coordinate change control.
- Network Security: Adhere to security policies and procedures to protect the network from external threats. Stay up to date with security best practices and emerging threats to continuously improve network security.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with network hardware and software vendors. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to optimize costs and support. Manage and coordinate the ordering process for network equipment and telecom circuits
- Capacity Planning: Forecast network growth and plan for scalability to accommodate the company's expansion. Collaborate with other departments to understand their network requirements and align resources accordingly.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Lead the resolution of network-related incidents and outages, targeting minimal downtime. Implement robust monitoring tools and practices to detect and resolve issues proactively.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures. Prepare regular reports for management on network performance and security.
- Finance and Budgeting: Develop and manage team yearly budget and expenditures. Participate in the long range and annual operating planning for the network infrastructure team.
- Facilities and project work: Support, manage, and execute various facility expansion and renovation projects along with the facilities team. Provide recommendations to develop project plans and identify budget requirements for the project.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relative IT experience in network management/administration or relative field.
- Leadership experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with managing teams is preferred
- Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, wireless and security
- Experience with SDWAN technology and Datacenter network technologies preferred
- Skilled at planning and executing technology projects
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies is a plus
- Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to dynamic business needs
