Job Summary
Swissport is seeking an IFRS 16 / Lease Accountant to join our Business Services organization in Casablanca. In this global role, you will be responsible for maintaining fixed asset registers, managing lease agreements, and ensuring compliance with international lease accounting standards.
You will work closely with Finance, Fleet, and Operations teams across global, regional, and country levels to drive process standardization and continuous improvement. A key part of the role is to identify better ways of managing these processes and actively support ongoing improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate registrations of new lease agreements in the lease engine and fixed asset registers.
- Maintain Fixed Assets master data across multiple asset classes and systems
- Accounting for lease terminations and modifications, as well as sublease accounting;
- Frequent alignment with local management on termination, renewal and purchase options in lease agreement.
- Ensure compliance to corporate policies, guidelines and internal controls for concerned countries
- Ensure that adequate and up-to-date process documentation and desktop procedures are in place and used.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and ensure customer satisfaction is achieved
- Continuously seek better ways of executing processes and support process improvement initiatives
- Handling of queries and escalations from internal customers
- Support implementation of process performance indicators (KPIs) and regular performance
- Reviews to identify & prioritize optimization potentials
- Report on service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs as per defined cadence
Qualifications And Competencies
- University Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance,
- 2-5+ years of accounting experience in the areas of lease and fixed asset accounting;
- Understanding of IFRS, VAT and external compliance requirements for Fixed Assets and Leases
- Experience with Lease Accounting platforms to manage IFRS 16 requirements
- Experience with SAP FI/CO
- Working experience within a Shared Service Centre / Business Services organization is a plus
- Good conceptual and analytical skills in the optimization of processes
- Strong initiative and a process improvement mindset;
- Distinctive customer orientation and interact courteously with customers
- Flexible work style and ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team
- Successfully handles most non-routine issues, escalates to team lead issues that cannot be resolved
- Requires minimal supervision to manage daily activities and to meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, any other European language is a plus
