THE TEAM
You’ll join our Consumer Disputes team, a specialist group within easyJet that plays a vital role in protecting the business while ensuring fair outcomes for our customers. The team works closely with operations, customer service, and legal partners across Europe, combining legal expertise with a strong understanding of airline operations.
THE ROLE
As a Consumer Claims Paralegal, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and processing consumer legal challenges arising from operational disruption. You’ll assess claims related to delays and cancellations, deciding which cases should be legally challenged and which are appropriate for settlement.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage cases end to end, work with operational data, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support robust, consistent decision-making.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing a caseload of litigated consumer claims from initial receipt through to settlement or final hearing
- Processing claims for compensation and refunds in line with easyJet’s Terms and Conditions, EU261 legislation, and the Montreal Convention
- Drafting legal documents including defences, witness statements, and trial preparation materials
- Liaising with internal and external legal representatives across multiple jurisdictions to coordinate cases, settlements, and judgments
- Accessing and analysing aviation operational systems to support legal defences and out-of-court settlements
- Working closely with operational teams to secure and preserve evidence related to disruption management decisions
- Supporting the Disputes team and advising customer service on EU261 and wider consumer law queries, including those from regulators and enforcement bodies
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases, systems, and reports relating to flight disruptions and claims
- Ensuring timely payment of claims and accurate recording of all related data
- Maintaining precedent and evidence databases to support ongoing and future disputes
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who brings a strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and collaboration to their work, alongside a solid understanding of consumer law and claims handling.
You’ll Bring
- Experience managing legal or consumer claims, ideally within a regulated or fast-paced environment
- A strong understanding of EU261 legislation and consumer law, or the ability to quickly build this expertise
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and court deadlines
- Confidence communicating clearly and professionally with internal teams, legal representatives, and external partners
- A proactive, detail-focused approach with the resilience to thrive in a high-volume, operational setting
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships across the business

PRACTICALITIES
This full-time role will be based in Luton. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
