How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
At Delta Air Lines, connection is central to how we operate. We work to welcome and care for our customers throughout their journey and create an experience that feels seamless and thoughtful.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to guide the strategy and evolution of our Trip Context platform. This platform brings together trip details, customer attributes, and operational insights so we can deliver accurate, timely, and personalized experiences. In this role, you will shape how trip information is captured, structured, and shared across the company. You will also help internal teams adopt and use the platform effectively, making sure they have reliable data, clear documentation, and strong support.
This position works closely with the teams that handle customer communications, ensuring they receive the context they need to send the right messages to customers at exactly the right moment.
Scope and Impact
You will be responsible for the Trip Context domain, including the core data repository for trip‑related information. Your work will influence how customer and flight data are designed and used across Delta. You will support internal teams such as Operations, Care, Digital, and Analytics as they integrate with the platform. You will partner closely with the notifications team to ensure messages sent to customers are timely, accurate, and based on the best available data.
Key Responsibilities
You will define the long‑term vision and roadmap for the Trip Context platform. This includes setting clear priorities, identifying the most meaningful outcomes, and translating goals into features and milestones. You will balance customer value, operational needs, privacy requirements, and technical feasibility when making decisions.
- Trip Context Data Stewardship
You will oversee the structure and definitions of trip data. This includes information related to bookings, changes, delays, rebooking events, and resolution workflows. Your role includes setting expectations for data quality, identifying issues that affect downstream systems, and driving improvements. You will work with engineering to shape how events, APIs, and data contracts are designed and maintained.
- Platform Integration and Enablement
You will help internal teams adopt the platform by creating clear documentation, sample integrations, and onboarding resources. You will lead discovery sessions to understand partner needs, define success criteria, and align on data requirements. You will establish support processes such as issue response, service levels, and ongoing feedback loops.
- Support for Customer Notifications
You will ensure the notifications engine receives accurate and up‑to‑date trip context to determine which messages should be sent and what they should contain. You will collaborate on rules and logic that account for timing, customer preferences, and operational realities. You will help maintain dashboards and alerts so teams can monitor accuracy and message delivery.
- Cross‑Domain Data Alignment
You will work with teams that manage Customer Data, Flight Data, Identity, Consent, and Personalization to align on shared definitions and event lifecycles. You will help plan migrations and cutovers that reduce complexity, maintain continuity, and protect data accuracy over time.
- Compliance, Risk, and Controls
You will ensure the platform adheres to privacy, security, and communication‑related regulations such as CAN‑SPAM, TCPA, GDPR, and CCPA. You will help maintain the correct handling of customer consent, data retention, and audit records. You will also help define and maintain incident response processes for data issues that affect communications.
- Stakeholder and Change Management
You will align partners across Operations, Care, Digital, Marketing, Legal, Security, and other parts of the business. Your work will include planning releases, communicating changes, providing training, and ensuring that teams understand new capabilities. You will gather feedback through user acceptance testing and use those insights to improve clarity and usability.
You will maintain a focused backlog with clear requirements and acceptance criteria. You will coordinate iterative releases, measure the real‑world impact of the work, and adjust based on performance and partner feedback. You will work closely with engineering and other cross‑functional teams to remove roadblocks and support ongoing delivery.
