How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
The Material Controller is responsible for coordinating with Power Plant Maintenance to schedule and procure parts repaired in-house. This role also manages the procurement, routing, and tracking of parts required for powerplant assemblies, aircraft components repaired in powerplant shops, and line replaceable units (LRUs).
Key Responsibilities
- Control part releases and maintain optimal shop work‑in‑process (WIP) levels to support Engine Maintenance turnaround time (TAT) goals
- Package parts for shipment and coordinate shop‑to‑shop material movement
- Maintain accurate tracking of parts throughout the rework cycle
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams within TechOps, including Materials, Outside Repair, MRO Services, Engineering, and other groups to meet TAT deadlines
- Add, update, and delete requirements within the scheduling system
- Set shop workload priorities, stage work, and resolve work stoppages
- Assist with training new personnel as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Consistently practice safety‑conscious behaviors in all operational processes
- Address safety and compliance issues, support audits, and maintain shop documentation in accordance with Delta and FAA standards
- Ensure proper parts segregation and protection
- Comply with departmental safety policies, established TOPPs/SOPs, and LMS training requirements
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
- Proficiency in Delta computer systems, including SAP, Missing Parts List (MPL), MTAC, GEM/MIRS, and PC‑based software such as Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to develop strategic and tactical plans that promote a safety‑conscious work environment
- Satisfactory performance in current position
