Primary Job DutiesReports to Manager of Heavy Maintenance and Supervisor Heavy Maintenance
Must reside proximate to the heavy maintenance provider facility
Acts as liaison between the Heavy Maintenance Provider and:
- Manager of Heavy Maintenance Contracts regarding aircraft
- Manager of Heavy Maintenance
- Assigned Manager of Quality Control
- Senior Manager of Quality Control
- Manager of Quality Assurance
- Manager of Reliability
Ensures the inspection and repair of SkyWest aircraft are conducted with the highest possible quality.
Verifies that all paperwork submitted to the SGU records department concerning the aircraft is complete, accurate, free of omissions, and properly identified.
Oversee the progress and quality of the heavy maintenance project.
Monitor and inspect work performed during the heavy maintenance project.
Assists in the interpretation and implementation of SkyWest standard practices.
Ensures completion of all documentation required by SkyWest.
Reviews paperwork regularly to confirm discrepancies and corrective actions are properly documented.
Performs Airworthiness Release Authorization and RII functions for completed aircraft.
Assists in the training of heavy maintenance personnel.
Supports receiving inspection of parts provisioning.
Minimum Requirements- Must hold the following:
- Must hold a valid A&P Certificate 14 CFR 121.378
- Level III Mechanic Authorization
- RII authorization (preferred)
- Receiving Authorization (preferred)
- Airworthiness Release Authorization (preferred)
- Unrestricted driver's license
- Preferred experience in supervision of personnel
- Must be self-motivated with positive attitude and ability to motivate others
- Must be familiar with SkyWest Airlines maintenance standard practice policy and procedures
- Extensive SkyWest MIP knowledge
- Experience with SkyTrack
- Must be familiar with requirement of SP 7650, Maintenance Recording regarding maintenance records of aircraft, engines, propellers, appliances and other components and/or maintenance functions that are required by applicable FAR’s
- Have good communication skills both written and verbal
Physical and Other Requirements- Able to comfortably lift 75 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation
- This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
