What your day would be like
The Intern, Finance
Business Process will play the role in supporting business process improvement and automation
initiatives aligned with Corporate Services’ strategic objectives, contributing
to the successful delivery of IATA’s strategy and Board-monitored targets.
In this role, you will
support improvement and automation initiatives by building, testing, and
documenting low‑ to medium‑complexity Microsoft Power Automate and Power BI
solutions, helping accelerate delivery across the automation pipeline. The role
also includes curating and sharing relevant learning resources from the

broader adoption of Power Platform tools.
We are seeking a
proactive self‑starter who takes ownership in driving the following key
activities:
- Building and testing automated workflows in Microsoft Power Automate based on user requirements and solution designs.
- Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver clear, timely, and actionable insight to stakeholders.
- Documenting delivered solutions to ensure output remains maintainable and transferable beyond the placement period.
- Supporting the documentation of process flows, business rules, and solution logic under guidance.
- Participating in requirements and design conversations as a developmental opportunity, observing how business needs are translated into technical solutions and contributing where appropriate. Contributing ideas for further automation and improvement opportunities.
- Curating and recommending relevant training content from the internal LMS to support the ongoing development in Power Automate, Power BI, and related tools.
- Producing concise how-to guides or facilitating informal knowledge-sharing sessions to help colleagues build confidence with Power Platform tools.
- Participating in team reviews and planning sessions as part of a structured delivery approach.
We would love to hear from you if
- You are currently studying towards, or holding, an undergraduate degree (in the last 12 months) in fields such as Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or other related disciplines. - Demonstrable interest or foundational experience in Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate and Power BI.
- A logical and structured approach to problem-solving, with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with structured logic, rules, and repeatable processes.
- The ability to work independently from a clear brief, managing tasks responsibly while seeking guidance where needed.
- A curious and experimental mindset, with a willingness to test ideas, learn from what does not work, and iterate towards better solutions.
- Good judgement in recognising when to ask for help, and the discipline to do so with initial thinking already prepared.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to present outputs in a way that is understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A positive attitude towards knowledge sharing and supporting others in developing new skills.
