As an Instrumentation Engineering Technician you will be accountable for fabrication and application of sensors to test hardware, routing of leads, termination of sensors, and setup and operation of measurement and recording systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Typical sensors include strain gages, thermocouples, thermal paints, thermal crystals, pressure tubing and transducers, accelerometers, tip clearance and blade tip timing measurement systems, aerothermodynamic rakes and probe assemblies, and signal transmission devices such as slip rings and telemetry systems
- Work includes: fabrication of the sensors and systems, sensor application technique development, design and fabrication of simple fixtures or test apparatus, inventory and chemical management, providing assistance during engine assembly and test, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining measurement systems
- Provide engineering design support; coordinating with team members to develop sensor application techniques, installation and routing plans
- Write department procedures as necessary to improve efficiency and capture lessons learned, as well as help train and develop less experienced technicians
- May work independently, be part of a team performing like tasks, or act as a specialist in a particular area depending on experience level and complexity of the task
- May travel for off-site instrumentation and test support and represent the company while working with the customer
- A practical skills evaluation will be given after sufficient progression in the hiring process
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics or Aviation with 1+ years’ experience working in technical roles OR;
- Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics or Aviation OR:
- JD/PhD degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics or Aviation
- In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship
Preferred:
- Team Leadership Experience
- Experience with Gas Turbine Power Systems
- Instrumentation sensor application experience, ideally with high temperature and/or rotating sensors.
- FAA Powerplant or Airframe & Powerplant licenses
- Machining, soldering, welding, brazing, avionics, or electronics experience
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal; good interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Understanding of basic mathematics, measurement systems and scales
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time
