Environmental Specialist to fill a hybrid contract position in Atlanta, Georgia.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-7 Years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
- Preferred Qualifications: Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission certification as an inspector, design professional, or plan reviewer.
- Pre-testing will be required for selected candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for overseeing environmental permitting and compliance, for water programs.
- You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental impacts, and drive sustainable practices.
- This position requires working knowledge of construction stormwater Best Management Practices and erosion and sedimentation controls.
- Environmental Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, specifically water quality, stormwater, and erosion and sedimentation controls.
- Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Experience with the federal Clean Water Act, the Georgia Water Quality Act, Georgia’s NPDES Storm Water Discharge General Permits and the Georgia Erosion & Sedimentation Act.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders.
WORK LOCATION
- Position is located in Atlanta, GA.
- Position requires being in the office or on a company site Monday through Thursday.
- Opportunity to work remotely on Fridays.
- Position is typically 10-25% travel but can be higher on occasions.
- The successful candidate must provide their own steel toe shoes. JSG will provide all other PPE.
