Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience in repairs of electro-mechanical assemblies - Knowledge basic avionics and electronics.
- Ability to obtain a D.O.D. security clearance (SECRET).
- Ability to obtain a valid U.S. Passport.
- Candidate must be capable and willing to support fielded M-TADS or FCR systems at CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Job Description
You will be the Depot Field Engineer for the SOF GLSS team. Our team is responsible for depot‑level repairs, modifications, and refurbishments of critical avionic systems supporting Special Operations missions.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Depot Field Engineer you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality maintenance and repair services that keep mission‑critical equipment operational.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Performs depot level repairs, modifications, refurbishments of specific components of the Modernized Target Designation Sight/Pilotage Night Vision System (M-TADS/PNVS).
- Performs repair, rework, fault isolation, troubleshooting, and acceptance test of mechanical, electrical, structural, hydraulic subsystems and complete systems.
- Operates automated or general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) and uses knowledge of basic AC/DC theory to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics to conduct fault isolation of defective components.
- Setup and operation of conventional milling machine and drill press, to rework or repair mechanical components.
- Utilizes precision measuring equipment to verify compliance to engineering specifications and tolerances.
- Completes work IAW engineering drawings, schematics, Repair Center Procedures (RCPs), Field Advisory Bulletins (FABs), and Contactor Installation Procedures (CIPs) .
- Documents work in automated maintenance data collection systems IAW Apache Fire Control processes and procedures.
- Provides technical feedback on electro-mechanical components to promote reliability improvements - Works with hazardous materials and chemicals, utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Performs limited supply duties (load/unload trucks), operates overhead hoists.

Desired Skills
Technical Expertise
- Proficient with J STD 001 solder certification standards.
- Skilled in CCA component rework & repair, including BGA rework and electrical maintenance.
- Experienced in troubleshooting and fault isolation of electro mechanical components using both general purpose and automated test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, waveform generators).
Capable of interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, IETM, blueprints, charts, and workbooks for hardware repair and maintenance.
- Familiar with industrial standards, military specifications, and related processes.
- Knowledgeable in hazardous material handling, chemical mixing/weighting, and proper safety wire techniques for assemblies and connectors.
- Able to solder, repair, and assemble cables and harnesses.
Test & Measurement Equipment
- Operate and interpret results from general purpose and automated test equipment for depot level diagnostics.
- Conduct fault isolation using oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, and waveform generators.
- Documentation & Communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Operational & Customer Support
- Provide on site technical, maintenance, and supply support for Apache D/E Model M TADS/PNVS and FCR systems (U.S. continental and overseas locations).
- Deliver over the shoulder assistance, guidance, and oversight during preventative maintenance, fault isolation, operational checks, and supply activities.
- Conduct technical training (classroom and OJT) per contract SOW/PWS and present product briefings to customers and senior Lockheed Martin leadership.
- Serve as the local on site representative for Lockheed Martin, ensuring seamless customer interaction.
Physical & Security Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lb and meet physical examination standards.
- Capable of adapting to dynamic, frequently changing customer requirements.
- Understand and adhere to government property control policies and procedures.
- Eligible for (or able to obtain) a Secret security clearance and a valid U.S. passport.
