- Play a key leadership role within the Americas region, influencing operational performance and strategy across multiple ports
- Permanent full-time position based in Los Angeles
- $120,000 – $140,000 USD

Our offshore ports each have a personality of their own. When you’re part of the offshore Qantas family, you might be physically apart but you’re still a close part of our team. Airports are the heart of our operation. It’s here people connect with the spirit of Australia from the confidence of seeing and interacting with our people, to the sheer awe that comes from watching our aircraft take off and land. We see it as our responsibility to take ownership and drive outcomes, taking the organization forward.
As the
Airport Manager LAX, you will lead one of Qantas’ most significant and complex international operations. This is a critical leadership role with full accountability for airport performance — overseeing both above and below wing operations to deliver safe, efficient and high-performing outcomes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will be responsible for safety, service excellence, people leadership, commercial performance, regulatory compliance and key operational metrics including on-time performance — all of which directly shape the customer experience at one of our most important global ports.
Taking a strategic and commercially focused view of airport performance, you will identify and act on opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen supplier performance and lift customer outcomes. This role extends beyond day-to-day operations — you’ll influence how the airport operates at scale, manage cost and budget performance, and deliver initiatives aligned to broader airport and regional priorities.
You will build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with airport authorities, regulators, business partners and vendors, while working closely across Qantas business units including Freight, Engineering and Lounges to ensure aligned, end-to-end delivery of the operation. You will also contribute to wider Americas operations, supporting regional priorities and ad-hoc initiatives where required.
To Be Successful, You Will Have
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience within a large, complex and/or regulated operational environment
- Strong airport or airline operations experience, with a deep understanding of end-to-end airport performance
- Proven ability to drive operational excellence, manage suppliers and deliver measurable performance outcomes
- Experience leading change, improving processes and embedding continuous improvement
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Working knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks (including US DOT, TSA MSP and FAA requirements or equivalent)
- Strong commercial acumen, including managing budgets, cost performance and operational KPIs
- Experience supporting premium customer environments, including lounge or high-value service delivery
- A track record of building, leading and developing high-performing teams
