Position Summary:
The Ramp Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair of ramp support services and utilities. This role ensures equipment reliability and operational continuity while assisting with compliance to applicable aviation fuel system standards, including ATA Specification 103. The position focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance, equipment operation, and general technical support within a safe and regulated environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Equipment Support
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ramp utility equipment and associated systems.
- Operate and support maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Assist with dismantling and repair of equipment using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, and hoists.
Operational Support & Compliance
- Support compliance with ATA Specification 103 and applicable safety and regulatory standards.
- Assist in maintenance activities related to aviation fuel systems and associated infrastructure.
- Perform snow and ice removal and treatment to ensure safe ramp operations.
Coordination & Systems Use
- Communicate with third-party vendors and provide escort support as required.
- Utilize CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) to support maintenance tracking and inventory accountability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and material usage.
Work Environment & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots and reflective gear.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in maintenance, industrial, or technical environments preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to understand technical terminology.
- Familiarity with aviation fuel systems, including refuel rack operations, fuel distribution systems, and emergency shut-off (EFSO) systems preferred.
- Awareness of fuel system inspections, spill containment (SPCC), and environmental safety practices.
- Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, utility vehicles, and vacuum trucks preferred.
- Exposure to fabrication, welding, torches, or rigging preferred

Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license required or must be obtained within the probationary period.
- Required to supply a pre-determined set of personal hand tools (specialized tools provided).
- Must maintain a professional appearance and wear required uniforms, including safety boots and reflective gear.
