Joining Team Norse is more than getting a job. It is all about belonging.
We're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Manager to take charge of our cutting-edge cloud ecosystem and drive excellence across our operations.
Your Role
As a Senior DevSecOps Manager, you will lead and own Norse Atlantic Airways' entire cloud infrastructure, primarily built on Azure services and the Cloudflare platform we build, protect and deliver our applications on. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient, enabling our teams and wider organization to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Leadership & Management
Lead and own the design, implementation, and maintenance of Norse Atlantic's Azure-based cloud infrastructure and the Cloudflare application delivery and security platform.
Build, manage and ensure the infrastructure is optimized for performance, scalability, and security to meet the demands of a global airline.
Manage day-to-day operational tasks such as CI/CD automation and infrastructure scaling.
Infrastructure Support for Development Teams
Own and deliver the infrastructure and SaaS solutions needed to support multiple development teams and wider Norse organization, enabling them to build and deploy high-quality applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and security experts, to align infrastructure needs with business goals.
Cost Optimization and Monitoring
Lead cost optimization initiatives to ensure efficient use of cloud resources without compromising performance.
Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to maintain high availability and proactively address issues.
Lead the adoption of lightweight, AI-assisted ways of working – incident triage, anomaly detection across logs and metrics, and automation of repetitive ops tasks – setting sensible team guardrails rather than standing up a separate AIOps function.
Vendor Management
Own relationships with cloud vendors and SaaS providers, ensuring optimal service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Evaluate, onboard and manage contracts, SLAs, and vendor performance to align with business objectives.
Security and Compliance
Own the security posture of the cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Partner with security teams to integrate DevSecOps principles into the development lifecycle.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in cloud infrastructure and security.
Identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
Team Leadership
In the future (depending on growth), lead a team of talented cloud engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to the broader team to drive team success.
What We’re Looking For
Proven DevSecOps engineer with experience leading and owning cloud infrastructure looking to step up to a senior management role.
Strong focus on Azure services and Cloudflare.
Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, including security, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day engineering work, with the judgement to tell where AI helps and where it doesn’t, and to lead the team as engineering practice keeps changing.
Expertise in cost management and optimization of cloud resources.
Strong vendor management skills, with experience negotiating contracts and managing SaaS applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
A growth mindset and passion for fostering a high-performance culture.
