Transportation Specialist – DoD Top Secret
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for Transportation Specialists to support our client’s operation in Landover, MD. These are perm positions with competitive pay, great benefits and a great opportunity to work on a high-profile government project.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with routing, dispatch coordination, delivery/pick-up scheduling, and tracking of shipments / moves.
- Loading / unloading practices and in-transit protection for furniture / property (pads, straps, securement).
- Prepare, review, and maintain required transportation documentation (delivery receipts, transfer / turn-in forms, chain-of-custody / signature logs) in accordance with DIA procedures.
- Perform item counts, condition notes, and discrepancy reporting.
- Follow site access, safety, and security procedures, report incidents, damage, or noncompliance immediately to supervisors.
- Work in warehouse / loading dock environments and assist with material handling tasks consistent with safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in transportation, delivery, warehouse, or logistics support.
- Must be a U.S. Citizens and have a current Top Secret clearance.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess Forklift and other Material Handling Equipment certifications and hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and willingness / ability to learn tasked logistics systems.
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time as well as repeated walking.
- Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
- There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted.
