Vista Members’ fleet comprises over 300 light, super mid-size, long-range and ultra-long-range aircraft. The Maintenance team provides a robust regional support network for Vista’s growing fleet, working across 7 maintenance sites with one of the leading base maintenance facilities in the world, taking care since 2004.. This role forms part of the Production Management team with full ownership of the management and delivery of aircraft in VAMF for sizeable inspections, checks or modifications.
Your Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for on time and within budget delivery and control of assigned base maintenance projects/checks.
- Liaise with Planner, Hangar Manager and Base Maintenance Manager to ensure projects remain on track and the availability of required resources (including manpower management through accurate booking and tracking of man hours).
- Identify and establish critical paths, escalating as necessary and driving the resolution of these.
- Ensure clear communication with all relevant stakeholders using the appropriate systems to enable correct reporting of the status of the maintenance.
- Identify and estimate defects accurately ensuring timely resolution.
- Report and address any shortfall in tooling or ground equipment.
- Ensure health & safety and compliance standards are followed and met at all times, including but not limited to assisting the Hangar Manager with risk assessments and reviews, ensure the aircraft footprint and surrounding area is kept to a presentable and safe standard, ensure health & safety is observed by the team.
- Manage third party maintenance activity conducted in the hangar dependent on Contractor/Sub-Contractor requirements in accordance with MOE.
- Supports the Base Maintenance Manager in the production, development and maintenance of all relevant MOE ensuring the information is accurate and up to date.
- Ensures a productive efficiency of teams of a minimum of 80%.
- Undertakes any other activities in line with the role requested by Hangar Management including the delivery of strategic projects as required.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Must hold a B1 or B2 and C Part 66 license.
- Previous man management experience in an aviation and or production environment
- Computer literate – experience of using Microsoft Office
- Must have a full, clean UK driving license.
- Must be able to inspire and motivate a team and third parties with no direct reporting line to work efficiently and diligently, acting as a credible role model at all times.
- Must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Part 145 (and company MOE) requirements and basic understanding of Part M.
- Good working knowledge of human factors, human performance and limitations
- Able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of all relevant health & safety regulations and ensure the team practice in accordance with the highest safety standards including safety reporting procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbally and in writing.
