Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Professional Staffing and Recruiting firm that is currently looking for Fire Alarm Designers. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a global leader in engineering and consulting out in Phoenix, Arizona.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the design and layout of automatic fire sprinkler systems for a variety of facility types in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and project requirements
- Generate fire suppression specifications for water-based fire protection systems
- Perform or review hydraulic calculations, material take-offs, and system sizing, including fire pumps and controllers
- Review, evaluate, and prepare sprinkler, fire pump, and/or special suppression system shop drawing submittal packages
- Conduct field surveys, inspections, and regular site walks to verify installation quality, fire safety, and code compliance
- Support testing, commissioning, system acceptance, and emergent site needs, including witnessing tests and providing code interpretations
Requirements:
- Three (3) or more years of experience in fire protection system design or consulting, with emphasis on automatic sprinkler systems and fire pump design
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and calculation tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, HydraCAD, SprinkCAD, or similar software
- Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 13, 14, 20, and/or 25.
- NICET Water-Based Systems Layout Certification preferred; NICET Level II or higher strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes, life safety standards, and local jurisdictional requirements
Pay: $40-60/hr+
