JSG has an opening for a Scientist - I (Assistant) with our client in Rahway NJTthis onsite position offers you the opportunity to contribute directly to a GMP-compliant microbiology laboratory, supporting environmental monitoring, finished product testing, and utilities analysis. Pay $32.14/hour
What You'll Do:
- Perform routine microbiological testing, including environmental monitoring of cleanroom areas, surfaces, air, and equipment.
- Operate and maintain essential microbiology instruments such as viable air samplers, particle counters, and RODAC plates.
- Conduct sampling activities adhering to aseptic techniques to ensure data integrity.
- Support routine water system monitoring and testing of utilities.
- Analyze and trend microbiology data, escalating any out-of-trend results for investigation.
- Participate in deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA development.
- Assist with finished goods testing, biological indicator assessments, and sterile operations.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Quality, Operations, and Pipeline to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed, compliant documentation following ALCOA and data integrity principles.
Required Skills:
- Proven microbiology laboratory experience within a GMP environment.
- Strong knowledge of microbiology testing, environmental monitoring, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments such as EM samplers, particle counters, and related tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive team-oriented mindset.
- Experience with microbiology compliance guidelines, SOPs, and data review.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience supporting quality investigations in microbiology.
- Knowledge of sterile, non-sterile, and aseptic manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with MODA, SAP, Veeva, and LIMS systems.
- Prior experience with water and utilities testing in a GMP setting.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of pharmaceutical industry experience with a Master’s degree or 2 years with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related Biological Sciences.
- Direct microbiological testing GMP experience is essential.
- Supporting qualifications include a relevant degree and practical experience in microbiology laboratory practices.
Other Requirements:
- Occasional weekend support may be required.
- Onsite presence is mandatory.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous learning.
- Ability to support internal and external audits and quality initiatives.
