About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Head of Special Cargo, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution and delivery of the Special Cargo program, including standards development, industry engagement, and working group leadership across the air cargo supply chain. The incumbent plays a key role in maintaining and evolving IATA’s Live Animals Regulations (LAR), Perishable Cargo Regulations (PCR), and Temperature Control Regulations (TCR), while actively supporting community engagement and advocacy initiatives.
What your day would be like
As a key member of the Cargo team, your responsibilities will include:
Translate the Special Cargo strategy into actionable plans, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring consistent execution against agreed priorities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of working group outputs, ensuring milestones, quality, and timelines are met
Provide structured reporting to the Head, including progress vs plan, risks, bottlenecks, and escalation points
Act as secretariat and lead coordinator for Special Cargo working groups and task forces.
Develop agendas, manage discussions, and ensure clear outputs and follow-ups
Draft, update, and maintain IATA standards (LAR, PCR, TCR) and supporting materials
Ensure accuracy, quality, and operational relevance of all publications
Support the development of policy positions and industry guidance in alignment with the Head
Build and manage working-level relationships across airlines, forwarders, shippers, regulators, and industry partners
Respond to industry queries and provide technical and operational guidance
Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., safety, sustainability, digital, operations) to ensure aligned delivery
Support implementation of cross-functional initiatives impacting Special Cargo
Represent IATA at selected external events, industry forums, and stakeholder meetings when delegated by the Head/Director
Lead and contribute to special projects, including operational improvements, regulatory initiatives, and digitalization efforts
Support commercial activities such as publications, CEIV programs, and training initiatives

You are passionate about air cargo and eager to contribute to shaping industry standards and operational excellence. We are looking for a proactive, structured, and collaborative professional with strong execution capabilities.
You have:
-Solid experience in air cargo operations or logistics, with exposure to special cargo segments.
-Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry standards in air cargo.
-Proven experience in project management, stakeholder coordination, and delivery execution.
-Ability to translate strategic direction into actionable plans and outputs.
-Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills in a global, multicultural environment.
-Strong technical writing capabilities.
Additional highly desirable experience:
-Operational experience in Temperature Control logistics (pharmaceuticals) and/or Live Animals transport.
-Experience working within or alongside quality frameworks and regulatory environments (e.g., GDP, GxP, CEIV or similar standards).
-Practical understanding of end-to-end supply chain constraints and compliance requirements in special cargo.
-Experience interacting with regulators, quality teams, or certification environments.
