Role Introduction
Reports to: People Business Partnering Manager
This People Business Partnering Lead role sits in our People Business Partnering team as one of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) teams in our People Department.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence in the day to day execution of organisational and people strategies. You will coach employees and line managers on people related issues on complex people issues, including compliance and employee relations issues, with reference to regulations, company policies and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the creation and upholding of good HR practices to ensure consistency and compliance and become a subject matter expert on internal processes and standards
- Provide advice and guidance to line managers on people related operations and lead people initiatives to meet departmental business and operation needs
- Handle employee grievances and complaint cases as assigned
- Provide advice to junior team members on standard procedures and best practices, including daily HR support and system solutions
- Ensure full and systematic record keeping of required documents including approval records, audit checking reports, and employee personal files
- Support the team in data consolidation for regular and ad-hoc HR exercises including performance reviews, annual and off-cycle salary reviews, and job rotation
- Drive the review of daily HR processes, identify areas for improvement, and take the lead in driving changes and alignments, internally within the People Business Partnering Team, as well as other teams including Talent Acquisitions and shared services team (Global Business Services), including HRIS data handling practices, case handling best practices, documentation standards and templates, and record keeping practices
- Identify opportunities for process automation and self-service, and drive change requests of system enhancement including case management system and HRIS, to improve data quality, user experiences, and improve daily HR operations
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are consistently and equitably applied with all legal requirements are met, and that positive employee relations are developed and reinforced
- Represent the team to work closely with various stakeholders including the shared services team for delivering hire-to-retire services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, psychology or relevant discipline
- 8 years of experience as HR generalist and/or in HR advisory or business partnering, preferably in matrixed organisation
- Ability to work with multiple teams and to create positive changes in a collaborative, convincing manner and the ability to manage client expectations
- Ability to manage difficult situations with tact and diplomacy, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and maintain confidentiality
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, desirable of some knowledge of international labour law and practice
- Strong analytical skills and excellent organisational skills with a result-oriented mindset
- Strong influencing, consulting and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including collaboration, coaching and counselling skills
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills.
