About the team you are joining
You are joining the Data Services, Governance and Quality team within I&D. Our team enables IATA to collect, manage, govern, document, and use data in a trusted and consistent way across the organization and with industry partners.
The team supports enterprise data services, data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data platforms that help improve decision-making, operations, and industry collaboration.
As part of this mission, we are building a central Data Collection Platform to support the collection, management, and monitoring of data submissions from airlines and other industry partners.
This role is key to shaping, launching, operating, and continuously improving the platform as a sustainable enterprise capability.
The role reports to the Senior Manager, Data Services, Governance and Quality.
What your day would be like
As Manager, Data Collection Platform, your role sits at the intersection of business needs, data governance, and technical delivery. You will work closely with Data Engineering, business units, governance stakeholders, and external data partners.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Act as the functional owner of the Data Collection Platform, managing the roadmap, priorities, releases, and continuous improvement activities.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements, including workflows, user stories, wireframes, mock-ups, and process documentation.
- Coordinate with Data Engineering and technical teams to validate functionality, support testing, document data flows, and ensure delivery meets business objectives.
- Oversee onboarding of airlines and other data partners, ensuring data can be submitted easily, securely, and consistently.
- Define and document data collection processes, submission requirements, validation rules, controls, operating procedures, and end-user guidance.
- Support integration with the broader IATA data ecosystem, including data catalogues, data quality processes, reference data, reporting platforms, and downstream data products.
- Promote adoption of the platform through training sessions, presentations, user guides, and communication materials for internal users and external partners.
We would love to hear from you if

- You understand secure data exchange mechanisms such as SFTP/FTP, APIs, AWS S3, cloud storage, file-based transfers, and batch data ingestion.
- You have strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical and data concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of IATA systems, aviation data, airline submissions, financial settlement, distribution services, or industry data exchange processes is considered a plus.
