JSG is seeking an experienced Benefits Professional for a temporary, onsite role with our client in the greater Thousand Oaks area. We are seeking an experienced interim Benefits professional to provide interim support (est 4-6 months). This individual will assess current Health & Welfare and Retirement benefit programs in the U.S. and Canada, identify operational issues, prioritize areas of risk, and independently drive resolution of outstanding items. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can quickly evaluate situations, work with limited direction, and ensure continuity of benefits operations while helping stabilize and improve processes. Key Responsibilities Conduct a comprehensive review of U.S. and Canadian benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, spending accounts, RRSP, and 401(k) plans. Identify and resolve outstanding benefits administration issues, eligibility discrepancies, enrollment errors, vendor concerns, payroll integration issues, and employee escalations. Evaluate current benefits processes, controls, and workflows to identify compliance, operational, and employee experience risks. Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and external vendors/brokers to investigate issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Review ongoing benefits projects, audits, regulatory requirements, and vendor deliverables to ensure critical items are completed and risks are mitigated. Reconcile benefits administration and payroll processes to ensure accurate deductions, employer contributions, and vendor billing. Develop recommendations to strengthen processes, documentation, controls, and operational efficiency. Document findings, maintain issue trackers, and provide regular updates on priorities, risks, and progress toward resolution. Ideal Experience 7+ years of progressive benefits administration experience, preferably supporting both U.S. and Canadian employee populations. Strong knowledge of Health & Welfare plans, retirement plans (401(k) and RRSP), benefits vendor management, and payroll-benefits integrations. Experience conducting benefits audits, troubleshooting operational issues, and leading process improvement initiatives. Ability to work independently, quickly assess ambiguous situations, and drive issues to resolution with minimal supervision. Strong project management, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
