Position Summary
Lead and manage the Procurement and Sourcing team to ensure the effective supply of materials and services for the business. Provide direction for daily operations across people, organizational capability, processes, and enabling information technology to support end-to-end supply chain execution. Drive alignment to customer demand through order entry, ensure disciplined follow-through across the manufacturing/processing cycle, and secure timely logistics and delivery performance. Champion and deploy Lean enterprise systems and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain to enhance quality, cost, delivery, and service. Accountable for sourcing and supply performance for Accumulators & Coolers, Hydraulic Cylinders, Pneumatic Cylinders, and Hydraulic Power Units.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the sourcing/procurement team to meet performance, capability, and engagement objectives.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Accumulators & Coolers, Hydraulic Cylinders, Pneumatic Cylinders, and Hydraulic Power Units aligned to business goals.
- Manage supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding, ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, and regulatory requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to deliver cost, lead-time, and service improvements while managing risk.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of direct materials and services through proactive planning, capacity assessment, and issue resolution.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to support demand forecasting, order entry alignment, and production readiness.
- Drive supplier performance management (KPIs, scorecards, reviews) and lead corrective actions for delivery, quality, and responsiveness gaps.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives (VA/VE, should-cost, standardization, resourcing, and productivity projects).
- Lead Lean/continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain processes to improve flow, reduce waste, and increase reliability.
- Manage logistics coordination with internal and external partners to ensure on-time delivery and timely processing of inbound product.
- Oversee procurement systems and data integrity (ERP/MRP, supplier portals, master data), ensuring accurate information flow and reporting.
- Assess and mitigate supply risks (single-source, geopolitical, capacity, financial) and maintain contingency plans and dual-sourcing where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities :
Sourcing strategy execution: Define and deliver category/product sourcing strategies aligned to business objectives (cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and risk).
Supply continuity & delivery performance: Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials/services and achievement of OTIF/on-time delivery targets across the value stream.
Cost and commercial outcomes: Own negotiated savings, total cost reduction, contract coverage, and year-over-year productivity commitments.
Supplier performance & quality: Hold suppliers accountable through KPI management, reviews, and corrective actions to meet quality and responsiveness requirements.
Risk management & resiliency: Identify, assess, and mitigate supply base risks; maintain contingency plans, dual sourcing, and capacity assurances.
Process excellence & Lean deployment: Drive Lean/continuous improvement in procurement and supply chain processes, supported by strong systems/data discipline.
People leadership: Develop team capability, performance, and engagement; ensure clear priorities, accountability, and cross-functional alignment.
Partner with the Division Supply Chain Manager to develop and execute procurement plans that support shop-floor production requirements, aligned to customer demand, forecast, andthe master production schedule.
Own day-to-day decision making for raw material availability, including prioritization of purchase requirements, PO placement/expediting, and allocation of constrained materials to protect production continuity and customer commitments.
Monitor and control raw material coverage for the shop floor by reviewing MRP signals, inventory status, supplier lead times, and demand changes; initiate corrective actions to prevent shortages and line stoppages.
Exercise commercial decision authority in supplier negotiations by evaluating total cost of ownership (price, lead time, MOQ, logistics, payment terms, quality/warranty, and risk) and selecting the best overall outcome within delegated limits.
Lead supplier selection/resourcing recommendations and execute contract/PO awards in line with procurement policy, ensuring timely approvals and escalations for decisions beyond authorized thresholds.
Make informed trade-off decisions between cost, delivery, and risk (e.g., expedite vs. production impact), documenting rationale and communicating actions to key stakeholders.
Qualifications
4-year college degree in engineering, or materials management required with certification in supply chain management.
