We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Technology Team at easyJet Holidays to work with us to deliver an industry-leading Data Platform.
Reporting into the Lead Data Engineer, you will design and build our new Data Platform based on the latest technologies and patterns. You’ll also work alongside the Data Analytics and Data Science teams to roll out our new Analytics Engineering capability, meaning less time spent turning handles, and more time for the fun stuff.
Reporting to our Lead Data Engineer, the
Senior Data Engineer will have three key responsibilities:
- Designing and Developing our new Analytics Data Platform – this role will play a significant part in the technology and design decisions of our new platform, so we’re looking for someone with an interest in the latest Data Engineering tools and a passion for great Data Modelling.
- Upskilling our Data Analytics and Data Science teams to self-serve their day-to-day data needs – our goal is to empower all Data developers to be able to self-serve small changes in a safe way through tools such as dbt with a robust CI/CD pipeline
- Ongoing optimisation and maintenance of the Data Platform – driving projects to improve performance or reduce costs via the implementation of new technologies and patterns
What You’ll Bring To The Team
This role will have a huge impact on the long-term direction of the Data Engineering team, so we are looking for someone with a passion for Data technologies and a strong drive to change the way we work with Data.
The ideal candidate will have a mixture of experience across Data Engineering and Python Software Engineering, ideally with prior experience in Model Development / Machine Learning and experience in establishing and developing ETL/ELT tooling e.g Dagster, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, dbt etc. You’ll also need experience in AWS based Data Tooling (and ideally experience of GCP too) and ideally Apache Iceberg / Trino / Athena or other modern technologies outside of PostgreSQL.

The role is full-time and based at our easyJet holidays HQ near Luton Airport. We operate a hybrid working model with three in-office days per week.
