What your day would be like
Collaborate with all stakeholders in Iraq to define clear goals for each project activity and related boundaries.
Develop and keep updated a Project Management Plan (PMP) including definition of tasks, estimating resources, and creating schedules.
Track progress, monitor milestones, and ensure that project deliverables are completed within the specified timeframes.
Liaise with stakeholders, team members, and external partners to provide regular updates, address concerns, and maintain transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify potential obstacles, assess their impact, and proactively mitigate risks to the project timeline and objectives. The goal is to keep the project on track and minimize disruptions.
Document project progress, decisions, and changes using tools like project management software.
Oversee quality control, review project deliverables, and ensure that the technical end results meet or exceed the expectations of the client.
Track the utilization of resources and expenses against the project budget.
Note: The Assistant Director is expected to spend between 50-75% of his / her time in Bagdad over a period of 30 months to ensure the successful delivery of the project for the client.
In addition of his / her project management tasks, the Assistant Director is also expected to work in close relationships with all the stakeholders in Iraq to facilitate the growth of aviation in Iraq and generate commercial revenues for IATA.
We would love to hear from you if
Hold a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering / aviation or possess a commercial pilot license.
Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as an aviation consultant and/or project manager for international aviation safety projects.
Showcase proficiency in project management and a keen analytical mindset.
Demonstrate an excellent understanding of critical aviation industry issues, particularly those related to safety topics and IATA safety audit programs.
Possess knowledge and experience with ICAO standards and EASA regulations.
Demonstrate capability to engage with C-Suite executives, including the ability to formally present findings and recommendations.
Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
Be open to traveling to Baghdad, with an expected travel commitment of 50-75%.
